Chris,

It was good to talk to you, I do remember. I only have an Icom tri-band HT (IC-T90A) with a couple different antennas depending on what I'm doing. It's a great little radio, so I haven't found too much reason to get anything else yet.

It's a little difficult for me to get to meetings because of regimental restrictions here at Mass Maritime, but I might be able to make Field Day, so hopefully we'll be able to meet there, and catch up on the air too!

Hello Christiaan !

My name is Chris & I talked w/ you last Saturday. CLUE: I was on submarines ?
Spent at least half my life w/ the Nav' but glad to hear U R heading for the Coasties; a truly fine, underappreciated org if there ever was one. We are a MIL-Type family, & my son is a C-17 Pilot in the USAF - even tho he grew up here on the Cape, he didn't want to go to sea! Go figure !

I have a Kenwood 271' in my car, with a Diamond 5/8 mounted to the back hatch. It works pretty well, altho I don't work too much "DX", mostly yappin' on the way back & forth to work, etc. I have a Kenwood HF sta at home w/ a tri-band bean & a coupla others, as well as the ubiquitous G5RV strung thru the trees. Uncle Sam taught me the code, but I prefer SSB. I am a member of FARA, as well & got my start w/ them in Nov. 2000 (I think)
Maybe we'll catch up w/ you at a mtg on of these months, or even better, Field Day, which is a big event for the club.

73 & Smooth Sailing !
