It’s that time of the year again: Blue Angels at the Naval Academy.  Every year the team of stunt aviators comes to Annapolis during Commissioning Week.  It’s a highlight of the season for Annapolitans, and massive crowds line the banks of the Severn River to watch the show.

You may remember that I streamed the event last year.  It went so well I decided to do it again this year too!  You’ll be able to view the stream & chat at my LIVE page.

Update (May 23): The Blue Angels have cancelled this week’s show due to safety concerns after a show in Virginia this weekend.  You can read about all the details.

Every year, the Blue Angels put on a demonstration during Commissioning Week, over the Severn River right next to the Academy grounds.  Not only does it draw the guests of the graduates, but thousands of area locals descend on the banks of the Severn to watch the Blue Angels perform their incredible aerobatics.  I’ve gone a few of the 9 years I’ve lived here, and it’s always exciting.

This year I happen to have the ability to share it with others out of town.  I can broadcast live using the UStream app on my Motorola Droid.  The Blue Angels demonstration starts at 2PM ET, and I’ll be broadcasting from the U.S. Naval Institute building on the Naval Academy grounds starting around 1:30PM, which you can watch right here.

Everyone in the maritime community is thrilled with the positive outcome.  The Academy will be having public celebrations of his release and of the safe return of the crew.  I’ll be posting about updates to this as it happens.
